Hands to Work
1. Cut a piece of muslin 8 by 10 inches.
2. Using a light box or a sunny window (or even your TV on static!), trace design onto muslin with a fade away marker or pencil.
3. Stitch design using a backstitch or running stitch with 3 strands of embroidery floss. An embroidery hoop is also helpful.

4. Trace heart onto a piece of paper and cut out. Using paper heart as a pattern, cut red calico fabric. Use heat and bond and iron on heart in the center of the hand.
5. Stitch around heart.
6. Iron work and place in any 8 by 10 frame. You may want to distress the frames finish by using sandpaper for a more primitive look.
